According to a new report by The Pew Charitable Trusts, people with both a mental illness and a substance use disorder are arrested at higher rates than their peers with only one of these conditions. The report found that although only 2% of Americans have co-occurring disorders (both a mental illness and substance use), these people make up a disproportionate 15% of arrests. Read more here.
