Thursdays with NAMI: Stigma? Discrimination? Krizia Armbrister kept walking towards her goals

Thursday, February 23, 7:00pm

Krizia Armbrister is a Case Manager for Veterans Services of the Carolinas in Fayetteville, having served in the Army for three years and the Army Reserve for two. Today she is proud to be working on a team that enables her to help Veterans that come from backgrounds similar to her own. The Bahama native faced significant mental health stigma as a female minority service member.

Krizia earned dual bachelor’s degrees in psychology and sociology, both from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. As a student she was president of Spectrum and advocated for the university’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer community. As such she had the opportunity to work with the Chancellor and Chief of Staff on a number of significant projects.

These days her goal is to talk about her experience for the benefit of others. This event is free and open to the public. Find us on Facebook Live or register to participate on Zoom.
